linen headband.

i'll admit, i always wanted one of these. they are fabulous. and ridiculously easy and cheap! i bought a 1/4 of a yard of linen at Joann's and it cost me $1.25 and i probably only used 1/3 of it. the stretchy headbands came in a pack of 4 for like $3.50. so it's a super cheap project.

you can find the tutorial here for how to make it. i took an old necklace that had pearls on it and sewed those on too. i ♥ it!

collage.

i love collages. i've been looking for some since the babe is going to have lots of pictures taken of him in a short time, whenever/if ever he decides to come. but i found this one at michaels, 40% off so it only cost me $18.00! i was a little surprised how expensive these things were but i guess when you count how many pictures you would put in it, it equals the amount you would pay for all of the frames.
i actually just scrapbooking stickers and letters to put on it. i love it. the stickers cost me about $10.00 probably.

you may find this little venture expensive, but a personalized collage is way more cute/interesting/fabulous/awesome than just a plain black frame.

now if only i knew the details to put on here. come on babbyyyyy

onesie.

i found some adorable onesies on etsy.com and decided that instead of buying them for $15.00 a piece, I could make them. i've only done one so far, but i think it is fabulous!

you'll need
:
[] fabric spray paint, about $12.00 at michael's (don't use regular spray paint, especially with baby clothes because it's got tons and tons of toxins in it). it comes in packs of 4 different colors
[] a pack of onesies, about $8.00 at walmart
[] a pack of stencils, about $3.00 at michaels. there's 4 in each pack as well.

-- stencil painted over with blue and green paint--

when you use the stencils, you have to take the outline and put it on the shirt instead of the actual sticker. this way you are spraying around the stencil and not inside of it.

when dry, take off the stencil and enjoy how cute it is!

let dry for about 2 days, and then wash before having the babe wear it.
this is the first of many cute onesies for Zak to enjoy soon.

headbands.

i cannot tell you how much i love flowered headbands. if i was having a girl, she would have enough headbands to wear everyday and never repeat. instead, i am stuck making them for myself.

each of these was made from a single stemmed flower, costing about $4.00 at Walmart. the headbands were 3 for $3.50 and the clips were $2.00. all in all the cost for this is less than $10.00, the price for one headband. and they took me about 20 minutes to make. easy peezy.

i found the link here that shows you step by step how to make the headbands. minus the hot glue burns on my hands, i think the number one adventure is a success.

begin.

today is the day that begins our "crafty-snafty" voyage... as the little child should be arriving in a week- i cannot become a mom without venturing into some "mom-like activities", which we all know includes arts and crafts.

i hope this blog gives you ideas as well as inspiration to begin your own crafty snafty adventure. just like me.
